Task

Your goal is to become familiar with common persuasive writing techniques and organization, which you will then utilize in writing your own persuasive paper.
To achieve this goal, the following objectives will be accomplished:
- students will read sample persuasive pieces and analyze their content for position and support
- students will research and select an appropriate issue on which they will formulate a position
- students will research to find specific reasons to use as support for their position
- students will plan and organize their findings
- students will write a persuasive paper on a controversial issue employing what they have learned
